Robin Williams

Robin Williams was born on July 21, 1952 in Chicago, Illinois. After graduating from Redwood, where he was voted Most Humorous and Most Likely to Succeed, Williams briefly studied political science before enrolling at Julliard to study theatre. After graduation, he performed in night clubs where he was discovered for the role of Mork on an episode of "Happy Days" and the later spinoff, "Mork and Mindy". His big screen debut was a role in Robert Altman's Popeye. But Hollywood failed to put William's brilliant improvisational gifts to good use until Good Morning Vietnam, which earned him an Oscar nomination and a Golden Globe Award in 1987. He has also shown surprising range, tackling dramatic as well as comedic roles and turning in stellar performances in Dead Poets Society, Awakenings, and The Fisher King. And his performance as the voice of the genie in Disney's animated Aladdin.
