The physical education program at Redwood High School offers students an exposure to a number of activities that will enable them to exercise their bodies, develop strength, increase stamina, and learn about sports activities that may have carry-over value for promoting life-long health. Physical education is a participatory activity program designed to help students improve muscle tone, cardiovascular development, coordination, and endurance. It is important that each student participates to the best of his or her ability level in order to reap the full benefits of physical education. |

dress for physical education (red shorts, Redwood T-shirt, white socks, athletic shoes)--red sweatsuits are optional and may be worn with the required physical education outfit

Grading will be based on attendance, dressing for physical education, active participation, testing of knowledge and skills, and effort.
NOTE: A student does not have to be a gifted athlete, strong, or well-coordinated to be successful in physical education. It is expected that each student will try to do his or her best.
