 February 17, 1999 Cammunity is targeted to locating live video and cameras on the Internet. It is designed for both people looking for live video and cam sites on the Internet and to those who would like to list their own sites.
Cool School of the Week
 January 25 - 31, 1999 Schools receiving this honor are recognized for their outstanding school Web site. Furthermore, these phenomenal Web sites are created, maintained and developed by the students - demonstrating teamwork, technology skills and communication capabilities in the form of a tangible product for the entire world to see on the Internet. These Web sites are judged nationally on the following qualities:
  1. Visual Appeal
  2. Creativity and Originality
  3. Community Involvement and/or Connection
  4. Use of Technology
  5. Setting and Achieving Specific Goals
  6. Value to the Students and the School
  7. Easy to Access and Use
  8. Integration of School Curriculum On-Line
  9. Practical Applications in Educational Setting
Discovery Channel School Spotlight
 January 4 - 10, 1999 An exceptional K - 12 school Web site is featured each week using the following considerations:
  1. The site has a place for student projects/input.
  2. The site has a place for teacher/parent Internet links.
  3. The site has attractive, easy to download graphics and is easy to navigate.
  4. The site has an identified webmaster.
  5. The site indicates that the school is actively involved with using the Internet in their curriculum.
  6. The site has been updated fairly recently.
Wise Owl Site of the Month
 November, 1998 The Wise Owl Site of the Month program was initiated in April 1996 to recognize those sites which best exemplify excellence in education and Web page design.
Topic Resources Award
 May 25, 1998 The Topic Resources Award is awarded to sites that contain an extensive compilation of exceptional, useful and informative links, as well as original material. Content and design is essential and more important than graphics.
Star CEARCH School
 October, 1997 This is an archive of the schools which caught the CEARCH-team's eye in terms of content, design, student involvement or use of pioneering technologies.
